In this masterclass, I’ll introduce you to Internal Family Systems (IFS): a therapeutic model based on the understanding that our psyche is made up of different inner parts — each with its own feelings, beliefs, protective strategies, and needs. Some parts may try to protect you by pushing for perfection, criticizing, pleasing others, avoiding discomfort, taking control, becoming fearful, or distracting you when something feels too painful. IFS helps us see these parts not as problems that need to be repressed or changed, but as aspects of ourselves that long to be understood and acknowledged.
To me, that is one of the model’s greatest strengths. It is rich and comprehensive, while also remaining simple and intuitive. It offers a clear map of the human psyche — a way to better understand yourself, and to help your clients better understand themselves. Not through judgment or correction, but through compassion, curiosity, and understanding.
Over the past years I’ve specialised in working with inner parts: first with Voice Dialogue, inner child work and schema therapy. Eventually, I found my way to IFS, and many loose puzzle pieces began to fall into place. Not only professionally, but personally as well. Working with inner parts has helped me relate to myself with more warmth, understanding, and love. It has helped me changed the way I relate to my thoughts, feelings, and recurring patterns.
That’s why I offer this masterclass. I feel genuinely passionate about IFS and about working with inner parts. I believe IFS is not only a powerful therapeutic model, but also a grounded and gentle gateway into a fundamentally different way of looking at: yourself, other people, and the inner world we all carry within us.
What can you expect?
This masterclass is a hands-on introduction to IFS. I will guide you through the foundations of the model and show you how this way of working can help you gain more insight into inner dynamics, both in yourself and in your work with others. I will share examples from my practice and from my own life, and through exercises and a demonstration, I will show you what an IFS session looks like.
What will you leave with?
By the end of the masterclass, you will have a simple yet powerful map of the psyche in your hands — a way to recognize, understand, and work with inner parts. Something you can immediately take into your daily practice. It will help you listen in a new way, give you access to new questions, and will help you guide people beyond inner struggle toward harmony, calm, clarity, and self-leadership.
Who am I?
My name is Jochem. I work as a coach and therapist, supporting people both individually and in groups. In my work, I like to go deep. I do not just want to help people gain insight, I want to help something genuinely shift. I want those lightbulb moments to happen, for things to click into place, for people to reconnect with themselves and be able to navigate their life with more ease, joy and confidence.
