As a coach or therapist, you hold space for others every day. You listen, you witness, you create safety for other people’s stories. But where do you go with your own?
In a sharing circle, we set aside labels, roles and achievements and meet simply as humans. We all carry our own doubts, struggles and emotions. And often, there is more recognition in each other’s stories than we might expect.
Facilitated by Iris Reugebrink, this sharing circle offers a space to give a voice to what is present for you.To share what’s on your heart, without needing to explain, solve or change it. There’s no advice, no judgment and no pressure to speak. Listening is just as welcome.
There can be something powerful in simply saying things out loud and feeling truly heard. By listening to others, we recognise that we’re not alone in what we experience. And by allowing our own feelings to be seen and received without judgment, we can create space for connection, reflection and sometimes a shift in perspective.
For once, you don’t have to hold the space. You get to be held in it.
How it works
We sit together in a circle, so everyone can see and meet each other as equals.
An object, such as a stone or feather, is passed around. The person holding it is invited to speak, while everyone else listens.
There’s no advice or debate. Whatever is shared is allowed to simply be.
You never have to speak. Being present and listening is just as much a part of the circle.
About the cacao
Cacao naturally contains theobromine and has a long tradition of being used in communal and ceremonial settings. Often referred to as a “heart opener”, it invites us to slow down, soften and enter the circle with intention.
